Going it Alone: A discussion exploring the challenges of starting your own practice

This event is part of the London Festival of Architecture 2017

Maybe you’re just starting to consider starting up on your own? Perhaps you’ve already made the leap and you’re beginning to wonder if you’re really cut out for this?

Join us at The Trampery Republic for a candid breakfast focusing on the challenges faced by new and emerging architecture practices. How do you get hired? How good does it actually feel to land that first contract? When do you decide to throw in the towel and when to carry on regardless?

We will put these questions to our panel of experts including Dicky Lewis from the newly established White Red Architects, based at The Trampery Republic and guests Julian de Metz of DMFK and Adrian Friend of Friend and Company.

Aimed at professional Architects, this is the first meet-up and launch of Start Arch. a group brought together by White Red Architects to discuss some of the issues facing emerging Architects setting out on their own in today's climate.

The discussion is hosted by The Trampery, experts in designing and delivering spaces for start-ups and entrepreneurs to innovate. The Trampery Republic is their newest location at Republic in East India and is home to designers, architects, artists and technologists, offering 40% of desks for free to support emerging creative businesses.
